We made it through the snowstorm

We made it through the snowstorm

Feeling thankful for a great harvest of frost-sweetened carrots this year.  We cannot get enough for these right now!
Farm Update

Thank you all for all your flexibility last week as we navigated the snowstorm!  It was fairly treacherous in St. Thomas, but a good portion of our crew comes in from London every day and reports are that it was far worse there.   Of course, we want to keep everyone safe and off the roads as much as possible, so we had a farm snow day on Thursday.

After having to cancel work on Thursday, we somehow fit our regular full day of order packing and full day of market packing all onto Friday.  We had some local help with getting as many boxes delivered on Friday as possible and Erik stepped in on his day off to deliver on Saturday.  Big appreciation goes to our crew for taking the situation in stride and putting in the extra work, especially near the end of a long season!

We still have some greens and herbs this week, thanks to our greenhouse and hoophouses.  Our experiments with bringing in perennial herb plants for the winter seems to be successful so far, with minimal losses, but we will still have to wait a few weeks for a harvest.  In the meantime we are looking at packing up some of the herbs we dried this season.

End of Main Season 2024

The last week for subscription boxes and orders is next week (the week of December 16)!  The bi-weekly Winter CSA and weekly ordering resumes the week of January 6th.  Our holiday market schedule is at the bottom of this email.

We are thankful for the opportunity to grow fresh food for our local community and are so appreciative for your support.  We are already looking forward to an awesome 2025 season!
