THANK YOU!

THANK YOU!

We want to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to all of you for shopping from our farm this season.  We honestly feel very privileged to be able to do the job of growing amazing organic vegetables for the local community and it is only because of your choice to buy from us that we are able to do this job!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Shortest days of the year are here.  Work starts shortly after Venus is up!

Farm Update

This will be our last week for delivery in 2023!  Our next time for delivery is January 11th, 2024.

Here is a schedule for what we are doing between now and then:
  • This week (Dec 21st) regular deliveries Thursday - Saturday
  • Regular market schedule this weekend with Kitchener market this Saturday (Dec 23) as well as Western Fair Market both Saturday and Sunday (Dec 23 and 24)
  • Saturday December 30th we will only attend Western Fair market.  No Kitchener market!
  • The following weekend (January 6th and 7th) we will only be attending Western Fair Market. Note: no deliveries that week
  • January 12th we will attend both markets again and resume deliveries.  Kitchener market/KW deliveries will be every other week and Western Fair Market will be every week.  Our online store will be open every Monday for orders throughout the winter.

Winter Shares

If you don't have a winter share yet please contact me to be added to the list!  Here are some details about winter shares:
  • Bi-weekly only with the first week being January 11th and going right until the end of April
  • 2 sizes: medium is $39 per share and large is $49 per share
  • Shares will have storage crops from the farm, greens and other winter vegetables from our greenhouse and unheated hoophouses and super hearty crops from the field (like Kale and parsnips)
  • We make as wide a variety of other crops from our suppliers as we can available.  We also source organic crops from Pfennings as they become available in the spring to round out the selection of vegetables from our farm
  • Space is limited as we want to make sure we have enough of our own farm-grown produce, so we are advertising only to existing members.

Farm Store Notes:

Things to Note from us: Spinach and lettuce is now coming from our hoophouses and most everything else is from storage with the exception of Kale, Collards and thyme (and maybe a few other crops that might still be ok in the field!)

From our suppliers: Garlic this week is from Our Fields in Aylmer. Squash and sweet potatoes from HOPE Ecofarms.  Through Pfennings: Ontario-grown potatoes, mushrooms, shallots, and organic apple options. Travelling from further away: celery, broccoli, lemons, limes, oranges, bananas, ginger, and turmeric.

Bread is available from Seth and Artisan Bakery this week.

Simple December farm lunch.  Squash soup, Seth's bread, kohlrabi and watermelon radish.

Weekly pickup / delivery schedule:

Farm pickup will be Thursdays from 4 to 8 pm.  If you need to pickup on Fridays, no problem.  Email us to keep your share in the cooler until Friday.
