Farm Update
Roma tomatoes are here in full force! We’re thankful that the big roma harvests didn’t happen last week and coincide with the avalanche of beefsteaks we had. Our main succession of beefsteaks will be slowing down now, but luckily we have one last smaller succession which has begun ripening. Tomato sandwiches can go on a little longer, but tomato canning starts now!
If you are interested in bulk fruiting crops, you can reserve them by submitting a request (link below) or by purchasing them directly through our online store.

This week we are working on a plan for the late-fall sucessions of lettuce and spinach. We’ll fill our hoophouses and field tunnels with these crops and, because they’re more protected than their counterparts in the field, we’ll be able to harvest them later into the season. Spinach is really key here because it is so well suited for winter growing in contrast to lettuce, which is a better warm-weather crop. If all goes well, we should have several harvests from that spinach all winter!
Middle River Music Festival was a success this past weekend! We had a fantastic time and loved being able to share it. Thank you very to all who came out to enjoy the music and time together on the farm!
